Description
This is dedicated to OUR FALLEN HEROES who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their LIVES though courageous battles to keep us safe and to their families and friends who mourn them still.
This ship is permanently docked in the Port of L.A at San Pedro where thousands continue to visit and pay their respects. I took this photo on what turned out to be an overcast day while riding on a small vessel touring the Port Of L.A. It was a bit of a bumpy ride, not the ideal situation for holding a camera steady. I am still quite pleased that I am able to share it with you today.

Great dedication to the heroes.
Like you and like we already discussed, I have mixed feelings in front of war machines as this one. We could say it inspires me awe, that feeling that according to my bilingual dictionary, is of "wonderment or dread, both mixed with admiration".
It also reminds me of the cruelty, the barbarism, the madness of men, and the ingenuity they are capable of both "putting them into practice" and protecting themselves from them. To barbarism, it is not easy to oppose anything but barbarism indeed. Like you, I hope that we will learn to do so quickly, and there is some progress that has already been made in this direction, it must be acknowledged.
It also brings to my mind, in a rather irrepressible way, another song, which is not totally appropriate for a day of commemoration, but which is also quite galvanizing and has surely inspired many to serve their country on a boat.
